- Names used for fraudulent/criminal activity, phishing, spamming or other Internet dysfunction.
- Names intended to mislead about the nature of an activity (generic references used deceptively).
- Names used by foreign entities posing as local entities to gain advantage.
- Names that impersonate well-known brands, trademarks or public figures without consent (cybersquatting).
- Names advocating hatred, violence, racism, discrimination, illegal practices, or contravening Internet best practices.
- Characters and length:
- Minimum recommended length is three characters.
- One- or two-character domain applications may be considered on a case-by-case basis with an initial/recurring surcharge and prior arrangement at the discretion of DNSAfrica.
